Bow Ties

Custom bow ties are a fun way to express your style! Create your ties in solid colors, print fabrics, or use your machine’s decorative stitches to embellish the fabrics for an even more personal touch - the choice is yours!
What You Need:
Supplies listed below are for making one bow tie
- Fabric for bow front section A: 9¼” x 5¼” (23.5cm x 13.4cm)
- Fabric for bow back section B: 9¾” x 5¼” (24.8cm x 13.4cm)
- Fabric for “knot” to go around bow center: 3½” x 1¼” (9cm x 3.2cm)
- Fabric for adjustable neck band: 20” x 2” (50cm x 5cm)
- Lightweight fusible interfacing
- Two ½” (13mm) buttons
- Thread for construction and buttonholes
- Large safety pin and hand sewing needle
- Fabric marking tool and ruler Hand sewing needle
If adding decorative stitches, you may wish to have the following additional items:
- Contrasting thread for decorative stitching
- Lightweight tear-away stabilizer (to support fabric for decorative stitching)
Preparation

Open mySewnet Embroidery Software go to Create and select Project-In-the-Hoop.

A dialog box will open. In Category, select Book Cover; In style select Blank; enter the dimensions of your book and click OK.

The book cover will be loaded into your main screen. Go to the Home tab. In the Design Panel on the right side of the screen you will see the size of the embroidery. Click on Change Hoop and select a hoop that is big enough for the book cover. Under Orientation Select Rotated. Click OK.

Click on Ungroup , The orange box in the Filmstrip will turn blue and the embroidery parts will be separated.
Stitching out the design:
